To provide deliberate practice and feedback in performing routes of medication administration.
The HealthCare Simulation South Carolina (HCSSC) Routes of Medication Administration Part 1 set of scenarios is designed to provide formative and summative assessment with structured feedback for participants administering medication through various routes. The ten scenarios within the Routes of Medication Administration Part 1 set are: 1. Medication Administration Procedure 2. Eye Route 3. Inhaler Route 4. Nasal Route 5. Ear Route 6. Sublingual Route 7. Buccal Route 8. Oral Route 9. Transdermal Route 10. Rectal Route All of the scenarios in the Routes of Medication Administration Part 1 set have been developed for several of the Laerdal software platforms. Each version of the scenario takes full advantage of Laerdal programming capabilities. As a result, the scenarios are easily run from a well-structured menu. Debriefing logs include color-coded check marks to provide easy-to follow, objective-based debriefing guides. In addition, multimedia is embedded throughout the scenarios to provide enhanced fidelity and “just-in-time” participant feedback. At the conclusion of each scenario, the debrief log shows the number and percentage of correct steps completed. All scenarios in this set can be found in SimStore™. Capital License:A Capital License is typically purchased from the customer’s capital budget. It gives a customer the right to use a scenario product for an unlimited period of time and for an unlimited number of times. If an update is made to the product, customers with a Capital License will receive the update if it falls within one year from the purchase date. After that timeframe, the customer will keep the existing version of the product without future updates. In addition, Customer Service will support a Capital License for a period of one year from the purchase date.
Annual License: An Annual License is typically purchased from the customer’s operating budget. It gives a customer the right to use a scenario product for a Period of one year from the purchase date, for an unlimited number of times. If an update is made to the product, customers with a valid Annual License will receive the update. Customer Service will support an Annual License as long as it is active.At the end of the Annual License period, customers will receive a message from SimStore,alerting them to their expiring license and providing instruction on how to extend the license.
